Over the several days of the hunt, an elder tells a young man the story of an ancient ancestor, a proud warrior called Ridjimiraril. The film then moves between the egg men, as they fashion canoes from bark and go about their hunt, and the story of ancient spirit. The still-frame depicts Ridjimiraril’s third wife, the young one called Munandjarra. According to the elder narrating the story, she was a beautiful one, ‘quiet as a sleeping baby’.
